39-year-old man killed after a fiery crash in Huron Township (Huron Township, MI)

On Tuesday afternoon, a 39-year-old man, of Rockwood, lost his life after his vehicle crashed into a structure inside a cemetery in Huron Township.

The fatal single-vehicle accident took place at about 4:15 p.m. at the Michigan Memorial Cemetery, 32163 W. Huron River Dr. Officials received a call about a vehicle going at a high rate of speed and finally running into a structure within the cemetery.

The man suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. The victim was identified only as a 39-year-old male. Reports further revealed that a Michigan Memorial employee saw the crash and quickly observed the vehicle to be ready to catch fire.

The employee immediately extricated the driver from the vehicle just before the vehicle got engulfed in flames and being burned extensively. Despite all the efforts, the man died of his injuries. The Huron Township Fire Department provided assistance at the scene. No other details are available.

An investigation is continuing.
