According to the California Highway Patrol, a motor vehicle accident was reported on Thursday morning.
The officials stated that a crash happened at around 6:39 a.m. when 66-year-old Gerardo Espinoza of Arvin crashed head-on with a Toyota Matrix.
The officials revealed that a 38-year-old man, the driver of the Matrix was found dead at the scene.
The crash happened on David Road west of Edison Road.
Espinoza was taken to Kern Medical Hospital with unknown injuries.
The officers do not suspect drugs or alcohol to be the factors involved in the fatal crash.
The officers blocked the area for several hours to investigate the crash.
