On Friday morning, a 38-year-old man lost his life after his vehicle slammed into a tree in Yakima.
As per the initial information, officers actively responded to the intersection of S 80th Ave and W Nob Hill Blvd at around 3:00 a.m. after getting reports of a single-vehicle crash. The early reports showed that a 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup was traveling west on Nob Hill Blvd when the driver ran a stop sign and the truck went straight through the intersection. The vehicle then left the road and crashed head-on into the tree.
The driver, from Keizer, Oregon, suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene despite resuscitation efforts of emergency personnel. Reports revealed that the man was not buckled up at the time of the accident. He was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
