38-year-old Jacob Shelp killed in a fatal motorcycle crash in Taylor (Taylor, TX)

On Monday, A 38-year-old Jacob Shelp, an Elgin man died after crashing his motorcycle into a U-Haul truck in Taylor.

Taylor police say that they are looking into the crash that happened on the evening of May 3 in the 5000 block of West 2nd Street. A caller had informed about the crash just before 9 p.m.

An initial investigation indicates that a motorcycle, steered by 38-year-old Jacob Shelp, was heading east on West 2nd Street when it collided with a U-Haul rental truck that had entered an intersection while going north from FM 3349. Shelp was declared deceased at the scene as a result of the collision, but the driver of the U-Haul truck did not receive any injuries.

The authorities continue to investigate the crash.
