37-year-old William Barger dead after a single-car crash in Pierce County (Pierce County, WA)

Authorities identified 37-year-old William Barger, of Bonney Lake, as the man who lost his life following a single-vehicle accident Tuesday morning in Pierce County.

As per the initial information, the fatal car crash was reported at approximately 7:39 a.m. on State Route 706 at 212th Avenue East near Elbe. The preliminary investigation showed that Barger was heading west when his minivan drifted off the road to the right and slammed into a tree.

Barger suffered major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the officials. It is unknown why Barger traveled off the road. He was not buckled up at the time of the collision. No additional information has been provided by the authorities.

An investigation is ongoing.
