The Orange County Sheriff’s Department reported a multi-vehicle accident on Tuesday.
The accident occurred in the northbound lanes of Interstate 405, just south of Seal Beach Boulevard.

According to the officials, the victim was driving north on the freeway when it collided with a big rig.
The victim, later identified as Richard Mendoza, 37, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The officials released his identity after notifying his next of kin.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
It is not known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the fatal accident.
There are no other details available at the moment.
