The Washington State Patrol reported a motor vehicle crash on Cle Elum. The accident happened on SR 970. The collision involved three cars.
A Volkswagen Golf was pushed into the back of a Volkswagen Jetta as it was getting ready to turn onto Red Bridge Road by a third vehicle that didn’t stop.
The driver of a Ford Econoline, the third vehicle, passed away at the scene. Elecia Vaughn, a Cle Elum resident aged 37, has since been identified as the woman.
Despite suffering injuries, the second car’s driver was not taken to the hospital. According to reports, the collision rendered the Jetta and Golf totally destroyed.
Drugs or alcohol are not believed to be involved in the fatal crash, according to the Washington State Patrol, but the cause is still being looked into.
