Authorities identified 37-year-old Andreanna Blaine, as the woman who lost her life after a rear-end crash near Central Avenue and Camelback Road.
As per the initial information, the fatal car accident happened at about 2:30 a.m. on Friday. The investigation reports showed that an SUV struck a sedan from behind. A woman who was in the passenger seat of the sedan suffered serious injuries as a result of the collision.
On arrival, paramedics rushed her to the hospital where she was listed in extremely critical condition. Police confirmed that the woman, identified as Andreanna Blaine, succumbed to her injuries at the hospital on Saturday.
The driver of the SUV, identified as 42-year-old Thaila Begaye, allegedly ran away from the scene on foot. However, Begaye was found nearby and arrested. Begaye faces multiple charges, including aggravated assault, failure to stay on scene of a serious crash, and endangerment. Potential DUI charges are still under review.
An investigation is ongoing.
