A 35-year-old Muskegon woman received serious injuries after a rear-end collision Friday afternoon in Allendale Township.
As per the initial information, the two-vehicle accident took place just before 5 p.m. at the intersection of Lake Michigan Drive and 84th Avenue. The preliminary reports showed that a Dodge Ram, driven by a 52-year-old Coopersville woman, was heading east on Lake Michigan Drive. While stopped at a stop light and preparing to turn onto 84th Avenue, a Dodge Caravan struck the back of the Ram.
The driver of the Caravan, a 35-year-old Muskegon woman, was seriously hurt in the collision and rushed to a hospital for treatment. The driver of the Ram incurred only minor injuries and was treated at the scene. The intersection was blocked due to the crash. Drivers were asked to find an alternate route. Lake Michigan Drive and 84th Avenue was later opened again to traffic. No other details are available.
The accident remains under investigation.
