35-Year-Old Krystina Stewart Killed In A Fatal Crash On LA Hwy 10 (Tangipahoa Parish, LA)

Louisiana State Police Troop L is investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash on LA Hwy 10 that claimed a life. The victim was identified as 35-year-old Krystina Stewart of Kentwood. 

A preliminary investigation revealed that a 2021 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by Stewart, stopped at a stop sign on LA Hwy 1061. Stewart drove into the eastbound lane of LA Hwy 10 into the path of a 1998 Freightliner semi-trailer truck. 

Stewart was not wearing a seatbelt during the crash and sustained fatal injuries. She later died. 

A juvenile passenger was also unrestrained and sustained severe injuries. The passenger was taken to the local hospital. 

The Freightliner driver was restrained and remained uninjured. 

Routine toxicology samples were obtained and sent for analysis. The crash is under investigation.
