35-year-old Julian Jimenez-Valle died after a pedestrian crash in west Phoenix (Phoenix, AZ)

On Saturday night, 35-year-old Julian Jimenez-Valle lost his life after being struck by an SUV in west Phoenix.

At around 8:20 p.m., officers actively responded to the intersection of 35th Avenue and Thomas Road on reports of a crash involving a pedestrian and an SUV. On arrival, responding officers found a pedestrian with life-threatening injuries. The pedestrian, identified as 35-year-old Julian Jimenez-Valle, was rushed to a local hospital where he died of his injuries.

Police stated that the driver of the SUV remained at the scene and spoke with detectives. Witnesses informed authorities that the pedestrian was reportedly observed running against the traffic signal when he was hit. Police believe that the SUV driver was not impaired at the time of the accident.
