On Monday night, 33-year-old Lawrence Richard lost his life after being struck by a vehicle in Lake Charles.
As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian crash took place at the intersection of Enterprise Boulevard and Pine Street. The early reports showed that a 1989 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 20-year-old Da’Quann Antone of Lake Charles, was heading northbound on Enterprise Boulevard. While crossing the roadway near the intersection of Enterprise Boulevard and Pine Street, Richard got hit by the Silverado.
On arrival, responders found Lawrence Richard lying in the roadway. Officers performed life-saving efforts before Richard was rushed by ambulance to a local hospital. He later died of his injuries at the hospital. Impairment is not believed to be involved, but standard toxicology tests are pending. No other details are immediately available.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
