33-year-old Francisco Javier Hernandez Cruz died in a fatal motorcycle accident on Highway 99 (Rosedale, CA)

On Tuesday, a 33-year-old motorcyclist, Francisco Javier Hernandez Cruz, died after colliding with a big rig crash on Highway 99 near Rosedale Highway.

The California Highway Patrol told that that they received reports of a collision between a motorcycle and a semi-truck just before 6:30 PM. The incident occurred on southbound Highway 99 north of Gilmore Avenue. The Kawasaki motorcycle rider took a turn that caused them to collide with a Freightliner trailer.

The impact threw the rider off the motorcycle. On arrival, authorities pronounced the Bakersfield man, Mr. Hernandez Cruz, deceased due to his injuries. Crews also arrived at the crash scene to clear the area and the authorities confirmed that all lanes have since reopened for traffic.

The crash is under review.
