32-year-old woman dead after a hit-and-run crash in Detroit (Detroit, MI)

On Monday night, a 32-year-old woman lost her life following an auto-pedestrian crash in Detroit.

As per the initial information, the fatal hit-and-run accident took place in the area of Livernois Avenue and Vernor Highway in Southwest Detroit. The preliminary investigation indicated that she was walking to the nearby dollar store to pick up some supplies. She reportedly stopped in the grass median of Livernois Avenue after safely crossing the lanes going in one direction.

As she waited for vehicles to pass so she could cross the rest of the way, a red Ford F-150 pickup truck veered off the roadway and hit her. Officers are still looking for the pickup and the driver. They believe the passenger side of the truck had heavy damage due to the collision. The woman has two sons, ages 13 and 8. No other details are available.
