32-year-old man died after a bicycle crash in Long Beach (Long Beach, CA)

A 32-year-old man lost his life following a two-vehicle crash after midnight in Long Beach.

As per the initial information, the fatal bicycle accident took place at around 12:15 a.m. on Anaheim Street near Coronado Avenue, which is just west of Redondo Avenue. The early reports showed that the bicyclist was riding the wrong way, heading east in Anaheim’s westbound lanes just before it collided with a 2009 Toyota Corolla.

On arrival, first responders found the unconscious bicyclist on the roadway with major injuries. Long Beach fire personnel tried to revive the cyclist but he was declared dead a short time later. The cyclist was identified as a 32-year-old Long Beach man.

The driver of the car was only identified as a man from Glendale. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the officials. He had a valid driver’s license. Speed, distracted driving and impairment are not considered to be involved in the collision. No other details are available.

The accident remains under investigation.
