A 31-year-old man from Redding lost his life after getting hit by a vehicle Tuesday in Happy Valley.
As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian collision took place before 5 a.m. on Canyon Road, east of China Gulch Road. The preliminary reports showed that the Redding man was walking in the lanes of Canyon Road when he came in the path of the 1999 GMC driven by 54-year-old Carl Schulte of Redding.
The man died as a result of the crash. The identity of the deceased will be released once the next of kin is notified. No further details are available.
The incident remains under investigation.
