Authorities identified 31-year-old Demetrius Powell, from Las Vegas, as the man who lost his life following a fiery crash on Friday in Corona.
Officers actively responded to the area of the southbound Corona (15) Freeway and the Temescal Canyon Road on-ramp at about 2:40 a.m. after getting reports of a traffic collision. On arrival, authorities found a big rig engulfed in flames. Firefighters worked to put out the flames.
According to the responders, a semi-trailer and at least one other vehicle were involved in the wreck. Demetrius Powell was declared dead at the scene by the officials. It is unknown in which vehicle he was riding in at the time of the collision. No other details are made available.
The crash remains under review.
