30-year-old Matthew Anderson died after a motorcycle crash in Monroe County (Bolingbroke, GA)

On early Tuesday, 30-year-old Matthew Anderson, from Macon, lost his life following a motorcycle accident in Monroe County.

The fatal single-vehicle crash took place at about 6:30 a.m. near the highway’s intersection at Hill Road, approximately three miles west of I-475 and the town of Bolingbroke. Authorities mentioned that a bystander saw Anderson’s motorcycle, which had been traveling north, rolled on the side of the highway’s southbound lane. On arrival, officers found Anderson’s body near a woodline on the opposite side of the highway from some railroad tracks.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the motorcycle was going north on Highway 41 when it drifted off the road on the left side. The bike then hit a root in the ditch, throwing the rider from his bike while the motorcycle rolled several times. Matthew Anderson succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
