The Peoria Police Department reported a motor vehicle crash at midnight. The accident happened on 75th Avenue and Golden Lane at around 9:24 p.m.
According to a portion of the Peoria Police statement, the victim was struck by a car that was driving southbound on 75th Avenue. The victim had been lying on the road when she was struck by a vehicle.
Officials have identified the victim as 30-year-old Katrina Gutierrez of Avondale, who died at the scene after sustaining serious injuries.
The car’s driver remained on the scene throughout the fatal crash investigation without suffering any injuries.
There is no evidence that the car’s driver was intoxicated, and speed is not thought to have been a contributing factor.
