30-Year-Old John Vasquez Arrested For Vehicular Homicide Charges In Mora County (Mora County, N. M )

A Mora County driver was arrested following a motor vehicle accident on a flooded road that resulted in the death of one man.

John Vasquez, 30, was arrested on charges of homicide by vehicle and leaving the scene of an accident. Vasquez lost control of the car when attempting to cross State Road 434 along with Benjamin Benjie Torres. 

Vasquez left the scene and walked upstream as the first responders attempted to bandage his arm.

Vasquez’s alcohol usage was reported to the deputies by the unit captain.

The unit discovered the body of Torres inside the truck while attempting to rescue it. Torres was 64-year-old.

Vasquez was arrested and questioned by a deputy. He admitted to drinking.
