30-year-old Freddy Perez dead after a hit-and-run crash in Los Angeles (Los Angeles, CA)

Authorities identified 30-year-old Freddy Perez, of Granada Hills, as the man who lost his life following a motorcycle crash late Saturday evening in Los Angeles.

As per the initial information, the fatal hit-and-run collision was reported at about 11:45 p.m. on Rinaldi Street, just west of Sepulveda Boulevard in Mission Hills. The preliminary investigation indicated that the driver of a dark-colored, long-bed Chevrolet Sierra pickup truck heading westbound struck the motorcycle, just west of Sepulveda Boulevard.

According to the authorities, the truck continued to head westbound along Rinaldi Street before traveling onto the southbound lanes of the 405 Freeway towards San Diego, without stopping. The motorcycle rider, identified as 30-year-old Freddy Perez, suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials.  No other information has been provided.

The incident remains under active review.
