According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a fatal crash was reported on Sunday in Hardeman County. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the motor vehicle accident. Authorities stated that the collision occurred in the US. 287 near Goodlett.
A semi was traveling in the center median crossover and attempted to make a left turn. A pickup at the same time tried to yield towards the right and was struck on its passenger side. The semi caught on fire and the vehicle was lost completely.
The occupants of the semi identified as 32-year-old Yojaner Garcia Lazo and 33-year-old Reiner Perz Garcia were pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck. The driver of the pickup identified as 23-year-old Jack Martin Poole was also declared dead when airlifted to the hospital.
The crash continues to be investigated by the TDPS.
