3 people killed after a crash involving pedestrians in Memphis (Memphis, TN)

On Saturday night, three people lost their lives following a tragic crash in Memphis.

As per the initial information, officers quickly responded to the intersection of Alta Vista and Overton Crossing shortly after 6 p.m. after getting reports of an auto-pedestrian collision. The preliminary investigation showed that a vehicle attempted to pass traffic by using the center turn lane and hit two pedestrians, as well as another vehicle in the opposing lane of traffic.

The driver and passenger of the at-fault vehicle and one of the pedestrians succumbed to their injuries after the accident. The driver of the car that got hit and the other pedestrian were rushed to Regional One in critical condition. No other details are available.

An investigation is ongoing.
