3 people injured after a two-vehicle collision in Zeeland Township (Zeeland Township, MI)

On Friday, three people suffered injuries following a rollover crash in Zeeland Township.

As per the initial information, officers quickly responded to the area of Byron Road and 56th Avenue a little before 5 p.m. after getting reports of a two-vehicle collision. The preliminary investigation indicated that a 1987 Chevrolet driven by a 54-year-old Hudsonville man was heading east on Byron Road when it entered snowy and drifting road conditions, as well as high winds.

Due to the conditions, the driver failed to maintain control of his vehicle and slide into the westbound lanes in the path of a 2014 Volkswagen, driven by a 58-year-old Holland man. The driver of the Volkswagen tried to avoid hitting the Chevrolet, but failed. After the collision, the Volkswagen went off the roadway and flipped.

The driver of the Chevrolet incurred only minor injuries and was provided medical aid at the scene. The driver of the Volkswagen and his passenger, a 63-year-old Holland woman, were taken to Holland Hospital through AMR Ambulance with moderate injuries. No other details are immediately available.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
