On early Sunday morning, three people suffered injuries following a rollover crash on the Northwest Side.
As per the initial information, the two-vehicle collision took place at about 2:30 a.m. on the intersection of Callaghan and Evers roads. The early reports showed that a 20-year-old woman was driving a black Toyota Camry when she failed to stop at a red light.
As her vehicle entered the intersection, it slammed into a red Hyundai Elantra, causing the Hyundai to hit a curb and roll several times. A 30-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the Hyundai, was unresponsive when emergency responders arrived. The woman was rushed to a hospital in serious condition.
The driver of the Toyota displayed signs of intoxication and was assessed at the scene. She was found to be intoxicated and was booked for DWI. Another person in the Hyundai, a 29-year-old man, received minor injuries whereas a 20-year-old male passenger in the Toyota also sustained non-fatal injuries. No additional information has been provided.
The crash remains under review.
