Three people received injuries following a wreck late Wednesday in San Diego’s Kensington neighborhood.
As per the initial information, the multi-vehicle pile-up took on 4800 Fairmount. The early reports showed that a 31-year-old man was driving north on 4800 Fairmount just after 10 p.m. when he began to merge into another northbound lane as his lane was ending.
When that happened, his vehicle struck the rear corner of a second vehicle, which caused the other driver to lose control. Due to the impact, the second vehicle was sent over the center median into the southbound lanes, where it was struck by a vehicle driven by a 57-year-old woman. The first vehicle also collided with a large construction truck parked on the curb.
The 32-year-old driver of the second vehicle sustained the most serious injuries, including a fractured pelvis, lacerated liver and kidney. A front-seat passenger in the female’s vehicle, only identified as a 65-year-old man, suffered a fractured sternum. The driver of the first vehicle also complained of pain. DUI was not considered to be involved in this incident.
The wreck remains under review.
