29-year-old Phillip Michael Roe dead after a fiery crash in South Nashville (Nashville, TN)

Authorities identified 29-year-old Phillip Michael Roe as the man who lost his life following a fiery crash early Friday morning in South Nashville.

As per the initial information, the fatal single-vehicle accident took place at about 1:30 a.m. in the 6000 block of Nolensville Road near the intersection of Autumn Oaks Drive. The preliminary investigation showed that Phillip Michael Roe was heading southbound when his 2007 Nissan Frontier slammed into a tree before catching fire.

Reports further added that Roe was driving the pickup truck when he overcorrected after entering the right shoulder of the roadway and hit a driveway culvert and a tree. Roe suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials.

There were no indications of impairment at the crash site. Nolensville Road was back open to traffic near the Williamson County line at approximately 6:30 a.m., responders reported. No other details are available.

The crash remains under review.
