According to the El Paso Police, a two-vehicle crash was reported on Sunday morning.
Officials stated that Francisco Martin Gallegos of Socorro was traveling on Interstate 10 west at a high rate of speed.
Gallegos was in a 1995 Chevrolet Suburban when he sped past other vehicles and collided with the rear tires of a trailer being towed by a Freightliner.
Police identified the driver of the Freightliner as Refugio Vasquez Martinez.
Investigators reported that Gallegos lost control of his vehicle, hit the center barrier on Interstate 10, rolled over and landed on the emergency lane of I-10 East.
Officials pronounced him dead at the scene.
Police stated that a high rate of speed was the cause of the fatal crash.
Officials reported that this was the 50th traffic fatality of the year.
