29-year-old Andrew James Acker in critical condition after a motorcycle crash in Marietta (Marietta, GA)

Authorities identified 29-year-old Andrew James Acker, of Marietta, as the man who received life-threatening injuries after a crash Sunday on Barrett Lakes Boulevard.

As per the initial information, the motorcycle accident took place at around 4:37 p.m. on Barrett Lakes Boulevard, just north of its intersection with Cobb Place Boulevard. The preliminary reports showed that Andrew James Acker was driving a red Kawasaki Vulcan 900 motorcycle south when, for an undetermined reason, he hit a curb.

Due to the impact, Acker was ejected from his motorcycle. On arrival, first responders rushed him to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital with life-threatening injuries. It is unknown what led up to the crash. No other details are available.

An investigation is ongoing.
