According to the California Highway Patrol, a motor vehicle accident occurred in Winchester on Wednesday.
The crash happened at the intersection of Highway 79 and Holland Road at around 11:50 p.m.
According to the reports, the driver of the four-door sedan slammed into a traffic signal pole and caught fire. The driver of the sedan was identified as 29-year-old Alexander Reynante who suffered significant injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Some portions of Highway 79 and Holland Road are blocked for further investigation.
It is unclear what caused the crash and if drugs or alcohol were a factor involved.
