Authorities identified 28-year-old Eduardo Fierro Jr as the victim who was killed following a crash Thursday in Phoenix that left another person with critical injuries.

The fatal hit-and-run collision took place on 63rd Avenue and McDowell Road. The preliminary reports indicated that Fierro’s car had stalled, and he was reportedly trying to push the car out of the way, along with a Good Samaritan who came over to help when a truck struck both of them.
