Authorities identified 27-year-old Rae L Lounsbury, of Elma, as the woman who lost her life following a two-vehicle collision on Friday morning near McCleary.
The fatal motorcycle crash took place on State Route 8 in Grays Harbor County at around 9:30 a.m. According to the investigation reports, Lounsbury was traveling west on State Route 8 while a 69-year-old Olympia man was driving a pickup truck in the same direction.
Officers stated that the motorcycle crashed into a guardrail. The woman was thrown from the bike and got struck by the truck. The victim was identified as Rae L Lounsbury and her name was disclosed after her family was notified.
The woman succumbed to her injuries at the scene. The Olympia man remained unharmed in the accident. The road was completely shut down for four hours as crews worked at the scene. No other details are made available.
An investigation is continuing.
