A 27-year-old Simi Valley man lost his life following a two-vehicle accident late Saturday night in Los Angeles.
As per the initial information, the fatal motorcycle collision was reported at about 11:20 p.m. on Highway 118, east of Rocky Peak Road. The area is in Los Angeles, just east of the Ventura County line and Simi Valley city limits.
The preliminary reports showed that a white 2008 Suzuki GXS-R ridden by a 27-year-old man was traveling westbound in the left lane at high speed. The reports also revealed that the rider made an “unsafe turning movement” to the right and, combined with his unsafe speed, struck the back of a blue Toyota Tundra pickup truck that was also going westbound in the left lane.
Due to the impact, the rider was ejected from the motorcycle, landing in a traffic lane. Despite the life-saving efforts, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene just after 11:40 p.m. The driver of the pickup truck remained unharmed in the wreck. No arrests were made. The identity of the deceased will be released once the next of kin is notified. No other details are available.
The crash remains under review.
