Officials identified 25-year-old Nathaniel Taylor McGowan, from Rusk, as the man who suffered injuries following a two-vehicle accident Thursday in Jacksonville.
As per the initial information, the motorcycle crash took place in the 1500 block of South Jackson Street at about 1:27 PM. The early reports showed that the Jeep, driven by 63-year-old Frances Darlene Pickett, from Riesel, was heading north and turning into a private parking lot when the motorcycle, heading south on Jackson Street, hit the right rear of the Jeep.
The rider suffered critical injuries and received lifesaving care by a witness at the scene. On arrival, emergency crews rushed the motorcyclist rider, Nathaniel Taylor McGowan, to the U.T. Health emergency room in Jacksonville. The man was later airlifted to the UT Tyler trauma center. No other information has been provided.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
