25-year-old Larilynn Ben dead after being hit by a train in downtown Flagstaff (Flagstaff, AZ)

Officials identified 25-year-old Larilynn Ben, from Phoenix, as the woman who lost her life after being struck by a train Sunday in downtown Flagstaff.

As per the initial information, the fatal pedestrian accident took place at approximately 9:30 PM. The early reports showed that Larilynn Ben was trying to cross between cars of a stationary Amtrak train. She came out on tracks in front of a moving Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway train.

According to the authorities, the engineer repeatedly blew the train’s horn and Ben tried to turn around and go back through the stopped Amtrak train. Larilynn Ben was pronounced dead at the scene by the officials. No other information has been provided.

An investigation is continuing.
