24-Year-Old Woman Killed 4-Year-Old Child Injured In A Pedestrian Crash In Santa Cruz (Santa Cruz, CA)

A pedestrian crash was reported on Highway 1 in Santa Cruz early Thursday. Officials have stated that a woman, 24,  was killed and a child, 4, was injured when they were struck by a car while crossing Highway 1. 

A northbound vehicle struck the two individuals around 12:45 a.m. when they were crossing the highway at River Street, stated the Santa Cruz police. 

The woman was identified as a resident of Santa Cruz County. She was pronounced dead by the officials at the hospital. The child is in stable condition. 

According to the police, the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the police. No evidence of driver negligence or impairment was found in an early investigation by the police.
