A 24-year-old Taylor man lost his life following a fiery crash Wednesday night in southern Wayne County.
As per the initial information, the fatal three-vehicle pile-up took place just before 10:15 p.m. at Sibley and Middlebelt Roads, near Detroit Metro Airport. The preliminary investigation showed that two of the involved vehicles collided head-on with each other.
One vehicle caught fire due to the impact. The driver was pinned in the vehicle and succumbed to their injuries at the scene. The man is believed to be a 24-year old from Taylor. The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the next of kin is notified.
Another driver had several broken bones and was rushed to the hospital whereas the third driver incurred only minor injuries. Speed is believed to have contributed to the deadly accident. No other details are immediately available.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
