According to reports from Franklin County Sheriff, a collision between a box truck and a hay truck took place on Wednesday; The multi-vehicle incident left 1 person with an almost severed arm.
The location of the incident was close to Connell. Reports go on to add that a box truck was driving southward on SR 17 in a box truck about 10 miles north of Mesa when he crossed the center line and hit a vehicle known as a “Hay Squeezer” head-on.
The other occupant of the vehicle, 24-year-old Maurico Jimenez-Ruelas, was seriously injured. Troopers are still investigating why Edgar crossed the centerline but confirmed that impairment was not a factor. 38-year-old Katie Van-Komen of Ellensburg, the driver of the hay truck, sustained minor injuries in the crash.
