The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office arrested 24-year-old Jordan Garth Pickett after a two-car crash on Saturday. The crash happened at the intersection of Birch Bay Drive and Shintaffer Road.
Records state Pickett was unable to brake to avoid another vehicle turning onto Birch Bay Road as his car approached Shintaffer Road. Pickett fled the scene north along Shitaffer Road.
The other vehicle driver, an 84-year-old, was taken to St. Joseph’s hospital in Bellingham for her injuries.
Pickett was located later by the deputies and was booked into the Whatcom County Jail for several charges.
