On Saturday night, a 23-year-old woman lost her life while another person suffered injuries following a rear-end collision in Culver City.
As per the initial information, the fatal car crash took place at about 10:15 p.m. near the intersection of La Cienega Boulevard and Wrightcrest Drive. The preliminary reports showed that a woman was driving a white Sedan south on La Cienega when her vehicle hit a second vehicle from behind.
Due to the impact, the woman’s Sedan swerved off the road and crashed into a light pole, splitting the vehicle in half. The woman, identified only as 23-year-old, suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. The driver of the other vehicle was pinned inside and needed to be extricated by the firefighters.
The circumstances surrounding the collision remain unclear at this time. According to the authorities, it is also unknown if drugs, alcohol or speed contributed to the accident. No other details are immediately available.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
