Officials responded to a motorcycle crash that severely injured a person. The crash happened at the Grand Avenue Apartment Complex at 2:13 a.m.
According to the officials, a motorcycle heading west sped off when an officer tried to pull him over. The motorcyclist headed east on Grand Street.
He was later located by the CPD with a significant head injury.
Officials said he was not wearing a seatbelt.
The motorcyclist was taken to Plains Regional Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. He was later transported to a Lubbock area hospital.
The crash will be further investigated by the Major Crash Team.
