23-year-old Oscar J Peralta-Collazo dead, 3 injured after a two-vehicle collision in Smith County (Smith County, TX)

On Monday afternoon, 23-year-old Oscar J Peralta-Collazo, of Tyler, lost his life while three people suffered injuries following a two-vehicle collision in Smith County.

As per the initial information, the fatal car crash took place on County Road 328 and Farm to Market Road 14. The early reports showed that a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer was facing west on County Road 328 while stopped at the stop sign intersecting Farm to Market Road 14. At the same time, a 2017 Ford Fusion was heading southbound on FM 14.

The driver of the Trailblazer failed to yield the right of way at the stop intersection by pulling onto FM 14 in front of the Fusion. Oscar J Peralta-Collazo, a passenger in the Trailblazer was declared deceased at the scene by the officials.

The three other victims involved were taken to CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler with unspecified injuries. No other details are immediately available.

An investigation is ongoing.
