Authorities identified 23-year-old Diego Reyes Mar as the man who lost his life after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday morning in San Angelo.
As per the initial information, the authorities actively responded to the 1100 block of North Bell Street at around 7:06 a.m. on reports of an auto-pedestrian collision. The preliminary reports showed that Diego Reyes Mar was walking southbound in the middle of the road when he stepped in front of a northbound vehicle and got hit.
He sustained incapacitating injuries as a result of the accident. He was rushed to Shannon Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries. It is unknown if the driver involved remained at the scene or not after hitting the pedestrian. No other information is available.
An investigation is ongoing.
