On Monday, authorities identified 23-year-old Andrew Melnichuk as the man who lost his life following a motorcycle crash on Sunday.
The fatal incident took place on S. Las Vegas Boulevard, near Serene and Pebble Road. According to the investigation reports, a 2018 GMC Sierra 1500 pickup truck entered the left-most lane where the motorcyclist was traveling. Just then, the front of the Kawasaki motorcycle struck the right front of the truck.
On arrival, emergency crews rushed the rider, Andrew Melnichuk of Las Vegas, to UMC Trauma, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the pickup truck stayed at the scene and did not show any signs of impairment. Three other passengers were riding in the truck at the time of the crash, including a 1-year-old child. All the occupants remained uninjured.
The crash remains under investigation.
