According to the California Highway Patrol, a multi-vehicle accident occurred in Butte County on Friday. The crash happened northbound on Highway 32 east of Gianella Road at around 3 p.m.
According to the investigators, a 1999 Chevrolet truck and a 2002 Acura were involved in the collision. According to the reports, the driver of the Chevrolet attempted to evade the oncoming Acura but was unsuccessful and was struck head-on.
The passenger in the Acura was identified as a 22-year-old woman who suffered significant injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity has not been disclosed by the authorities.
The accident is still being investigated. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident. Additional information regarding the fatal crash is not available currently.
