22-year-old man killed after a vehicle slams into a tree in Federal Way (Federal Way, WA)

On early Monday morning, a 22-year-old man, from Des Moines, lost his life after his vehicle smashed into a tree in Federal Way.

As per the initial information, the fatal single-vehicle crash took place on State Route 18 at about 2:23 a.m. The early reports showed that the man was heading westbound on State Route 18 approaching Weyerhaeuser Way when he failed to maintain control of his vehicle.

After that, the vehicle hit a tree and landed in an embankment off the road. The man succumbed to his injures at the scene. According to the officials, wet roadway conditions and drugs/alcohol contributed to the accident. The man was reportedly buckled up at the time of the collision. No further details were provided.

An investigation is ongoing.
