Louisiana State Troopers responded to a bicycle crash that killed a Breaux Bridge man in St. Kandry Parish on Wednesday. A crash took place near Whispering Oaks Drive at about 5:30 a.m.
The victim was identified as 22-year-old Davonte Chane Edwards.
Edwards was riding his bicycle on the south center line of the highway when he was hit by a car.
The bicycle crash ejected Edwards from his bicycle and was thrown into the northbound lane. He was then struck by another vehicle traveling north.
Edwards was pronounced deceased on the scene.
The crash is under investigation.
