Authorities responded to a motor vehicle crash that claimed the life of a Georgia Tech student. The victim was identified as 22-year-old Alahna Smith.
According to reports, Smith was killed when her SUV plowed into a tractor-trailer on Marietta Boulevard. Upon being pinned under the truck, Smith was pronounced dead.
The tractor-trailer driver has not been identified by the police. No arrests have been made so far relating to this incident.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
Smith’s family and friends mourned the loss following the crash. She was part of Georgia Tech Clark Scholars’ introductory 2018 cohort.
