21-year-old Matthew I Luke injured after an auto-pedestrian collision on Highway 2 in Cashmere (Cashmere, WA)

Authorities identified 21-year-old Matthew I Luke as the man who suffered injuries after getting struck by a car on Sunday afternoon in the Cashmere area.

As per the initial information, the auto-pedestrian crash took place on Highway 2, near Aplets Way. The preliminary investigation indicated that Matthew I Luke, from Cashmere, was walking in the road when he was hit by a westbound 2011 Audi A4.

On arrival, medical personnel transported Luke to Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee with unspecified injuries. The driver of the vehicle, a 19-year-old Baring man, remained unharmed in the accident. N Highway 2 was shut down for approximately 30 minutes as crews worked at the scene. No other details are immediately available.

The crash remains under investigation.
