According to the California Highway Patrol, a fatal crash was reported on Thursday morning in Livermore. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the multi-vehicle accident.
Authorities stated that the collision occurred eastbound on Highway 580 at First Street. Initially, the driver of a Mustang rear-ended a Ford F-350 pickup truck. No injuries were sustained as a result of this accident.
A Chevrolet pickup truck travelling at a high speed struck the Mustang driving up front. The rear of the Chevy was also struck by a passing Ford Expedition.
The driver of the Mustang was identified as 21-year-old Juan Moreno Alonso. Alonso was pronounced dead when the Chevy hit the Mustang.
Other information pertaining to the accident is yet to be determined. The crash continues to be investigated by the CHP.
